Once daily macrobid: usually prescribed for prevention not treatment of UTI, You can try high doses of probiotics with the twice daily Macrobid to see if you can tolerate. make sure there is a culture and sensitivity done with each and every UTI to make sure you are not developing resistant bacteria in your urinary tract.

Not well: This medication is designed to be taken twice a day. Less that this, and there is not enough medicine in the system to adequately kill the bacteria. Symptoms may subside, but they will very possibly reappear once the medication is stopped.
