See below: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. Is he diabetic? Does he have peripheral vascular disease? Any heart disease? It would be prudent to see your doctor.

Are you SURE....: it isn't broken? Did someone take an x-ray and have it read properly by a foot expert? It MAY be only bruised or sprained but it's tough to tell without an exam.
