A member asked:

Can you have low grade superficial bladder cancer then in 6 months develope carcinoma in situ if the bladder. is that a recurrance or a new cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes and no: Bladder cancers arises multifocally. By the time that the first cancer appears, the entire epithelium covering the bladder already bears mutations, and new cancers begin popping up in various places. They are part of the same underlying process although they are individual cancers. This is a tricky concept. I'm glad your disease was detected and hope that you'll get a good outcome.
