Not unusual.: It usually helps to rub up and down on the shin and calf muscles. Also, ibuprofen if lasting more than 10-15 minutes. It seems more common after an increase in exercise, in kids with flat feet, or those who tend to sit with legs under them, but no studies to confirm. Keep well hydrated with water. If pain is present during the day, get it checked out.
