Common enough: Penile erection in any male-esp prolonged erection, called priapism-can be very uncomfortable and painful. Common but not as painful in small children.Try to get child to relax by being closely held for comfort and trying to get child's attention on a toy or something else.Also try not to stimulate penis while cleaning him and while changing clothes. Sometimes use of warm water locally may help.
