Mono is possible: You can actually have mono or CMV virus when you have had strep a few times. This can happen in adults, and usually is also accompanied by fatigue, lymph node swelling, fevers, and body aches. The pain in your neck under your jaw is usually from lymph node swelling. If the antibiotics/Rocephin shots are not helping, please see your doctor for further testing.
