A member asked:

I have a meningocele that is 5.6 cm x 3.9 cm x 5.0 cm and wondering how big this is and if it is dangerous.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Meningocele: A meningocele is a protrusion of the meninges that cover the brain or spinal cord through a bone defect in the skull or vertebral column respectively. The defect measures approximately 2 x 2 x 1.5 inches in size. These are not dangerous as long as cerebrospinal fluid is not leaking out through the skin and the meningocele is not enlarging. See a neurosurgeon to discuss these MRI results.
