Diastolic dysfunct: achieving max heart rate(HR) important to assess for issues of poor blood flow/blockages in heart arteries. Not as important to assess dyastolic dysfunction (heart does not relax fully in between beats). Pulmonary HTN also does not need max HR to assess. Any risks for obstructive sleep apnea (common cause of pulm HTN)? Stay in touch with your cards. Might discuss sleep study. Hope this helps.

Predictor of disease: It seems that you may be referring to two different things-an exercise stress test and a heart catheterization are two different things. In an exercise stress test,if the heart rate does not get up to 85% of its maximal predicted value, this is known as chronotropic incompetence and can be a predictor of coronary heart disease and left ventricular dysfunction.Cath is diagnostic of specific disease
