Swollen glands: Swollen glands are common with strep. However, sometimes these glands can become infected, as well. If it is getting bigger, and more painful, she should be rechecked.

Patience: Strep is usually a stimulus to glandular swelling in the neck. These glands to the clean up work of the body and will swell for a while while the antibiotic builds up to a level where it gets ahead of the infection.Increase in size early is expected, with gradual reduction to pre-infection levels in 2-3 wks.
