Husband has ulcerative colitis. labs & colonoscopy rule out flare. c.diff infection! flagyl day 5, diarrhea lessening but pain & fatigue still bad. when should he see improvement? dr. appt in 2 days.

Soon: Good there no Flare up of Ulcerative Colitis. Also glad to hear that C. Diff. toxin induced Diarrhea is improving. Make sure he is taking electrolyte water to replenish potassium. Everyday will be some improvement. Please follow up with your doctor. He will need another stool sample to check on eradication of C.Diff .infection

UC and C diff: very tough to treat c diff these days. be sure to keep f/u with your doc and discuss specifically when she/he feels there should be improvement. Can take weeks sometimes. Sometimes fecal transplant needed. Discuss with your doc. Good luck. Tough case, sorry.
