Have mild tetanus, but had reaction to metronidazole. in mexico, was given option of doxycycline or penicillin g injections instead, which is better?

Either: Either drug is fine as a second line for tetanus. You need a 10-14 day course. Good luck

Metronidazole: Metronidazole (Flagyl) has replaced penicillin G as the first drug of choice. For mild tetanus, the preferred route is by IV four times a day for ten days.
