A member asked:

If given 14 days doxycycline for syphilis exposure instead of penicillin due to local drug shortage, how long until not contagious?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

That is felt to be enough to treat early syphilis. It's recommended to test after possible syphilis exposure after 3 weeks and again after 3 months. Your local public health department can validate this advice regarding doxy and testing advice.
