Ensure: If your doctor put temporary fixation, then you're set. If not avoid chewing or chewy foods. Your diet should be mostly liquid and depending on your fracture and location you might tolerate soft mechanical diet. Ensure and like supplements are essential to be sure you keep a relatively healthy intake.

Ask Surgeon: Ask Surgeon for express instructions. Eat extremely soft or liquid diet. Something like Boost or Insure, high in protein, would be helpful. Keep mouth immaculately clean. Avoid physically stressful activity. Avoid analgesics that promote fluid mobilization such as Advil (ibuprofen) or aspirin.
