A member asked:

Is hashmotos reversible? or does the immune system attack other organs after the thyroid can't the immune system be calmed down

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hashimoto's: Not generally reversible. Usually progresses to destruction of the thyroid gland so that thyroid hormone replacement is required. Antibodies in Hashimotos are specific to the thyroid, so limited in that sense. There are some who develop other autoimmune diseases but those diseases are generally considered separately.
