My boss has a swollen elbow, bruising on it, but no injuries . what could it be ?

Elbow: The most likely answer is he bumped his elbow hard enough to cause some bleeding deep next to the bone. The 'light blood' in the conditions might mean he is on some blood thinner. Even Aspirin can make you more prone to this kind of bleeding. Alternatively, the gout could also be the cause but you didn't mention it being painful. which is usually the case.
