EKG: The EKG is the basic test done to see if your heart is functioning properly. There are many other heart tests that can be done depending on your symptoms and/or findings on the EKG.

Echocardiogram: An ultrasound of your heart, called an echocardiogram is an excellent way to determine if there are any structural abnormalities in the heart. It can look at the heart muscle at rest and during contraction, and give information about the valves of the heart.
