Have it looked at..: if it continues. Pain around the Adam's apple with hoarseness or even swelling can be anything from a cyst or polyp(s) on the vocal chords, or a growth on your thyroid or in your larynx. Unless you're in severe pain, wait a day or two to see if it gets better or worse and if the same or worse, see if you can get in to see an ENT doc- this area of the body is their expertise and have the best tools
