I have a small movable ball of a lump in my neck, only felt when you press under my adam's apple in the center, and it hurts, possibly not cancer?

Probable thyroid: Directly under the adam's apple is the cricoid cartilage which can be felt as a firm lump. However there is also an extension of the thyroid, the pyramidal lobe, in which nodules can form. As both will move up and down with swallowing it can be hard to tell them apart. Suggest you see md.
