Gyn Oncology consult: This question requires an in person visit with a Gyn Oncologist. Borderline tumors have the risk of evolving into metastatic cancer. Some are treated with removal of the ovaries. Others can be monitored closely until child bearing is complete. Your oncologist needs to give you statistics assessing the risk of progression to cancer and discuss a plan for monitoring.
