"Yes": Real answer is complex. First work up and diagnose your thyroid nodule with FNA. Make sure it isn't in fact a parathyroid nodule (called adenoma) or thyroid cancer. There is a relatively rare hereditary syndrome called "MEN" that includes hyperparathyroidism and a rare aggressive form of thyroid cancer. Besides the two rare situations above, there is no link between the two.

Nope: Most likely an incidental finding. Have you had a parathyroid sestaMIBI scan? This would be a more sensitive and specific study to evaluate for hyper functioning parathyroid gland.
