Pancreatic cancer: Pancreatic cancer doesn't have a known etiology (cause). Genetic predisposition plays a role. Drinking is a contributor but there must be a background that it influences.

Possible viral cause: pancreatic cancer begins at least 15 years before an early invasive lesion is present. Teen agers have been reported with panc. CA. The probable cause is a virus getting into the tissues to cause transformation though disease like melanoma and chronic pancreatitis are associated with higher incidence.
