No clear answer: Pancreatic cancer may run in families, e.g. a brother and sister of former president Carter died of pancreatic cancer. However mode of inheritance is not clear and there are no good known markers that may be followed for early detection. Refraining from alcohol, tobacco and maintaining a healthy weight may help.
