Is it possible for emla (lidocaine and prilocaine) cream to work for laser hair removal?

Not efficient: To be effective, EMLA (lidocaine and prilocaine) should remain in contact with the skin under an occlusive dressing for at least one hour. Use local anesthetic (e.g. Lidocaine, Mepivacaine, Septocaine) for local infiltration. Talk to your health provider for side effects and allergies. Good luck.

EMLA (lidocaine and prilocaine) Helps: Emla (lidocaine and prilocaine) or topical anesthetics can be tremendously helpful for hair removal laser treatments. However, the better lasers have a "cryogen" spray cooling device attached to the laser hand piece that will also alleviate the discomfort. Also, there are newer lasers that are faster and thus cause less pain when zapping your hairs away.
