Mononucleosis: Treatment for Mononucleosis is mainly supportive, meaning plenty of fluids and rest until your immune system clears it. Spleen enlargement is an uncommon but serious possibility. Following this primary infection, your immune system should be able to prevent re-infection, although occassionally people do experience periods of symptoms and will test positive for acute infection again.
