Gum inflammation: Gingivits is the inflammation of the gingiva (gums). It may be localized to a specific area or generalized. If it is not treated it may progress to periodontitis and cause gingival recession and bone loss. Check with a dentist or periodontist for treatment.

Problematic: Gingia=Gum, Itis=Inflamation. Usually caused by bacterial infection. Normal pocket depth 3mm or less. Treatment by a professional required. See Dentist or preferably Periodontist.

Gum disease: Untreated gingivitis with pockets 5 mm or more can advance to periodontitis and can eventually lead to the gap between the teeth, tooth loss and other health problems. See your dentist ASAP because the sooner you treat it the better the outcome.
