See an: Ear, Nose & Throat Specialist. Have them make sure this is defiantly tonsillitis and not something else. If it is tonsillitis and appropriate antibiotic therapy does not work, then they may consider having your tonsils taken out. The first step to any treatment is having the proper diagnosis.

See an ENT: for evaluation and tests. Once diagnosed with chronic tonsillitis your doctor may recommend a tonsillectomy, which is a surgery to remove the tonsils. However, in many cases surgery is not needed.
