Chronic tonsillitis: Hello, signs of tonsillitis can range from large obstructive tonsils, to an abscess in the throat, to red infection filled tonsils. They could also look perfectly normal but still be infected. Indications for removal is usually 5-7 infections in 1year or 3-5 infections per year for multiple consecutive years. If snoring or interrupted breathing is noted while sleeping, then removal is needed.
