A member asked:

What to do if i have bad migranes and the doctor has prescribed a narcotic?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Migraines: Its ok to take the narcotic on occasion. Say less than once a week. Its meant as a bridge to get you over the worst parts of the migraine. BUT, its not okay to take it regularly. It won't prevent a migraine. There are other meds for early treatment such as Imitrex (sumatriptan). Its important to figure out what triggers your migraines (red wine, cheeses, MSG any food with tyramine in it.
