See your dentist: In many cases wisdom teeth should be extracted due to complications associated with the presence of tooth decay. It is a common procedure, generally performed under local anesthesia, intravenous (IV) sedation, or general anesthesia by a specially trained dentist or oral surgeon. Often extracting a wisdom tooth is the best solution.

Mandatory: It's mandatory that the remaining part of the tooth, which is infected, be removed ASAP. You will actually have to be seen (and probably x-rayed) by your Dentist or preferably an Oral Surgeon to determine the actual course of treatment for your problem. Please call now for appointment.

Normal?: Any tooth can be extracted or removed. How difficult it is to remove depends upon many factors such as angle of tooth, position of adjacent teeth, amount of tooth structure left, vitality of tooth, age of patient, skill of surgeon, etc. It sounds like extraction is likely and advisable and best to be seen by an Oral Surgeon.
