Using Triamterene?: Triamterene (T) is a potassium-sparing diuretic used in combination with thiazide diuretics for the treatment of hypertension and edema. In combination with hydrochlorothiazide. T is best avoided in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), as high potassium levels can occur. Speak to your physician (P), as your P know you best, to see if you have any CKD, as that may prevent you from taking T.
