HIV testing: HIV testing is typically not routine though may be performed. You would likely either request this to be done due to risk factors for contracting the virus or it may be done if there is a concern for certain types of pneumonia that can happen in people with HIV/AIDS (Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia, fungal pneumonia, etc.). Some states/hospitals require consent forms before testing is done.
