5-8 cups/day: Children need between five and eight cups of water each day, according to one study published last year. But some children may be fine with less water, and children who are very active may need more.

Enough to pee: You don't need to be to specific in kids with normal kidneys.As long as they take in material with enough fluid value to pee every 6 hours or so, they are keeping up with their needs,
