Not effective.: Polysporin (bacitracin and polymyxin) is a topical antibiotic. The infection is under your skin. If it is draining already then warm compresses several time/day should suffice. If it is spreading and or you develop fever or signs of a body wide infection you should seek help immediately. and antibiotics
