May need surgery: If the fibroids are causing pain or heavy bleeding, you may need to consider a hysterectomy. If you can be patient, though, often time fibroids shrink as you go through menopause. You might try to stick it out for now, and hopefully it will get better. Taking a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory medication like ibuprophen can help.
