A member asked:

I have a lot of difficulty using regular floss but have recently changed to a water flosser. is a water flosser just as good as string floss?

Not really..: Traditional floss will mechanically remove bacteria and debris and get into areas that the water pick cannot. There are floss holders to help you if your dexterity is not that great. No shortcuts for this type of care.

No: A water flosser is in addition to string floss. Try different brands and types of floss. If that doesn't do it, identify the spots you have trouble with and see if your dentist can open or smooth the trouble spots

No: Nothing is as effective as string floss. It can be challenging to use. Your dental hygienist can help you with your technique to make it wpeasier for you.
