Are there good punishments for running away from home when your underage?

Not really: Without knowing what the child gets from running away from home, it's hard to come up with an effective intervention. Usually more positive, preventive approach such as giving the child more opportunities to earn previliges and providing more activities the child is interested in at home, would make them less likely to run away.
