Fold thickening: There are numerous causes of fold thickening, including inflammatory, infectious, vascular, and neoplastic. Sometimes the fold thickening seen on CT is not real, a false abnormality due to incomplete bowel dissension. Your doctor, in the context of your entire clinical picture, can best determine how significant it is. Colonoscopy may be useful if you have not had one.
