Our son has tubes in his ears and he is having drainage about once every other month, the he has to use ear drops, what causes the drainage?

His doctor can tell.: In addition to the possiblility of recurring middle ear infections despite having tubes, the mucus membrane lining the middle ear space can secrete clear fluid; also, a small number of patients can have ear drainage due to having tubes. His ENT doctor can tell you which cause is most likely based on examining him.
