HIGH BP in the LUNG: Persistant pulmonary HTN means that the the blood pressure in the lung is elevated even during rest. There can be many causes including heart and lung diseases, blood clots in the lung and primary disease of the blood vessel of the lung. It can be difficult to diagnose, sometimes unrecognized for months to years. Symptoms include shortness of breath, chest pain and sometimes dizziness.

PPH - Persistent PH: Normally this refers to an infant who has pulmonary HTN even though he or she has already been born and is really called Persistent Pulmonary HTN of the Newborn. or abbreviated PPH.
