Thermometer problems: There are several factors that could explain this discrepancy between an axillary and oral temp. One might be the time you take to record each measurement. Another could be the calibration or settings of the thermometer. Temp naturally varies according to the time of day-- warmer in p.m., cooler in early a.m. Have you tried different positions in the armpit to get the highest (& best) reading?
