It may lower to norm: No it will only bring down close to normal, how many degrees is variable and dependant on the dose of Motrin as well.

Not Generally: Ibuprofen does not usually affect body temperature. Acetaminophen (tylenol, panadol, (acetaminophen) etc.) is more effective at reducing fever. Ibuprofen will reduce the temperature of an inflammed area (say a sore knee) since it reduces the inflammation causing the increased temp there.
