A member asked:

Is there less of a chance of bleeding after a tonsilectomy if i had to have it recsuterized? or is it the same 4 percent chance again no matter what?

Tonsilectomy: In the cases I have seen there is rarely any suturing with a tonsilectomy. Any ENT's out there please jump in. In my experience the tonsils are removed with an electrocautery device. The base of the pharynx (throat) where the tonsil was is then cauterized. I am not sure what the term "recsuterized" means or is. There is alwasy a risk with any surgery. Review risks thoroughly with surgeon.
