Hold off on crowns: If you do have crowns placed on your bottom teeth, they have to match properly with your top teeth. If you have braces then your top teeth are being moved. Crowns placed on bottom teeth now may not match properly with your top teeth when your braces are complete. Your orthodontist and general dentist need to work together to decide the best timing for your treatment.

Ask the orthodontist: The tooth restoration on the opposite arch will not interfere with on going orthodontic treatment in most cases. However, it is always important and prudent to consult with your orthodontist before any dental treatment. Good luck.
