Occipital lymph node swollen & tender w/ slight neck pain on same side & headache (no fever). was bit by a tick 2 weeks ago (if this matters??). how serious is this? do i need to be seen & how soon?

Not very serious.: If you have been in biotech, and are not sick, the likelihood that this is related to the occipital lymph node is highly unlikely. If you are having no fever, then the node and the headache are probably unrelated. A routine office visit would probably answer your concerns. A simple blood count is probably only lab needed.
