My friend had a fever, headache, sore throat and he has swollen lymph nodes in neck, what is the cause and how to cure him?

Infection: Lymph glands enlarge for a number of reasons, but the most common is infection. Fever, sore throat, and nodes can be viral (cold, flu, mono, for example) or could be bacterial, especially strep throat. Viral diseases will get better with time, but strep would need antibiotics. When in doubt, check with your doctor.

Streph Throat test: Please encourage your friend to see the doctor for a streph throat test. He could have mononucleosis, streph throat or a viral infection. Tx depends on the cause. Consider tylenol (acetaminophen) or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications. Saltwater gargles: mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water – gargle several times a day. Or gargle with aloe vera juice twice a day.
