Anywhere: Anywhere from the first month to the last month, and some patients require no elastics. Orthodontic treatment is not an assembly line procedure. Every patient is different. Best answer, ask your qualified Orthodontic Specialist what he/she has planned for you to best resolve your individual malocclusion.

When needed: Elastics are but one of many auxillaries that the orthodontist can use to move your teeth. When and where they are used are based on your malocclusion and your treatment plan, and since everyone is different, there is no one answer for all.
