Psychiatry 36 years experience
If you have symptoms: and you are not lying about it. Most psychiatrist will go to the highest recommended dose of a medication, when symptoms are still prominent, and there are no concerns about misuse of the medicines. It is very common to receive requests to increase sedatives, but those are concerning medications if there is any suspicion of potential abuse.
