What does hemorrhoid banding do? i have problem with mine burning and blood in rectum on off since 2009 doc wants banding is it placed inside?

Yes : Banding is done with a special device that cuts off the blood supply to the hemorrhoid tissue causing them to shrink. They are used for internal hemorrhoids and can cause some cramping but are generally painless. They are done as an outpatient procedure and are generally effective.
