A member asked:

How long does it take prolactin levels to reduce to normal levels after discontinuation of amisulpride which caused hypoprolactinemia? thanks

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Drugs and prolactin: It can take a few months for the prolactin to come down. However, all the drugs in this class cause elevated prolactin. Your profile says you are on quetiapine: this will elevate prolactin too. However, the elevated prolactin from these drugs may be an annoyance (disrupted periods, perhaps galactorrhea), but is not serious. More important to treat the underlying condition.
