MRI brain: The thinning myelin and white spots are often described in the usual aging of the brain. Multiple sclerosis (MS) plaques are commonly found along the corpus callosum, periventricular white matter, cerebellum, brain stem, and spinal cord. A lumbar puncture with analysis of the cerebrospinal fluid will make the diagnosis of MS. See a neurologist to discuss the MRI findings in the brain.

MRI results: Here are some comments about your report: white spots- these are often found in MS, but also with high blood pressure, smoking and head injuries. By themselves, these do not make the diagnosis of MS. thinning myelin- this occurs with age, and it is rarely reported in mri results grey mass- are you sure this is what was found? This is not found in MS

Doubt MS: Many disorders can cause memory loss, and spots on MRI could be very nonspecific, but could point to microvascular angiopathy due to arteriolosclerosis. Would recommend full blood studies, and include B-12, and homocysteine, in addition to standard studies. A neurology consult may be beneficial.
